Join Ribbon: Ignite Change in Nonprofit Management with Our Cutting-Edge Tech Platform

About Us: Revolutionizing Nonprofit Tech Space

At Ribbon, we’re not just a company; we’re a movement. Launched in January 2023, we’ve redefined the nonprofit management sphere with our innovative cloud-based solutions, focusing on fiscal sponsorship and streamlined back-office operations. In just one year, we’ve empowered over 250 charities and managed $10M+ in transactions. Our vision? To revolutionize the philanthropic world by 2030. You’re not just joining a team; you’re becoming a part of a mission to unlock the limitless potential of social impact leaders.

Your Mission: Product Designer

As a Product Designer at Ribbon, you’re a creative member of our Product team and collaborate closely with the Head of Product and developers to create a structured, intuitive experience for our users. You have an eye for clean design, possess superior UX skills, and are able to translate high-level requirements into flawless user experiences.

You’ll be responsible for defining product problems and opportunities, conducting/participating in user research, and the overall user experience and visual aspect of the product. You will define and create a cohesive user experience throughout the full suite of Ribbon products, designing creative solutions to complex problems and bringing them to life as easy-to-use and delightful user flows and interfaces.

Key Missions:

  • Experience Architect: Obtain input from internal stakeholders and users to define product direction, visuals, and experience. Create and iterate on wire frames, process flows, and prototypes to communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Collaborative Visionary: Conceptualize ideas that bring simplicity and ease of use to complex design challenges. Design end-to-end workflows for high-quality implementation and intuitive user experiences. Collaborate with the product team to create functional and technical specifications with clear designs and documentation.
  • Customer Expert: Conduct user, industry and competitor research. Be a tireless advocate for users and ensure that work being released is considerate of their needs. Utilize data and research together to define optimal experiences for all users.
  • Quality Champion: Provide QA on our apps before deployment to beta groups. Be accountable for good or bad user experience outcomes in your work.

Your Arsenal:

  • Self-motivated, creative, and solutions-focused team player.
  • Empathy – You care deeply about understanding others and don’t make assumptions based on face value.
  • Curiosity – you have an interest for learning and working in complex problem spaces and aren’t afraid of asking questions.
  • Enthusiasm for technology products and a desire to innovate them.
  • A bias for action – Speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and don’t need extensive study. Our team must be calculated risk-takers.
  • Excellent leadership, judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Personable, flexible and communicative, with a constant willingness to improve
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, Product Designer, or similar role.
  • BA in Graphic Design, Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Media or related creative field.
  • Strong awareness of user interface, accessibility, and interaction design best practices.
  • Prior experience in designing SaaS products.
  • Ability to generate multiple design solutions, evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, and incorporate team feedback to improve upon selected designs.
  • Superior eye for visual aesthetics, layout, general design principles, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced knowledge of standard design tools (Photoshop, Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch, etc.)
  • A strong, sharable portfolio, including projects released to the public (Dribbble, Behance, etc. are acceptable, as long as they show examples of product work).
  • Strong plus: experience with finance or fintech focused software for B2B.
  • Plus: Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, or other collaboration software systems.

Join the Revolution:

Step into a role that merges cutting-edge technology with the noble tradition of fiscal sponsorship. Your work at Ribbon isn’t just a career; it’s a legacy. Be part of a team that’s not only redefining the nonprofit sector but also making a tangible, positive impact on the world.
